We just sold our 8 ft. LQ 3/horse for a 12 ft. LQ 3/horse. When we did it I was thrilled for the space. Now I'm nervous! I'd like to hear from those with 12 ft.. I know I'll get use to i but some reassurance would be great right about now.
Thanks!

I sure can't help you, we went from a 7' wide, 3 horse with a 6'LQ, to an 8' wide 13.5 LQ. I loved pulling the old trailer but this one scares me a little, and we haven't went anywhere yet. I hope you get lots of good replies, but I know how skinny my roads are to get to the highway. Hope I have a driver, good luck.... I love the space too.

I will be going from a 2 horse bumper pull to a 3 horse 10ft short wall trailer.. Talk about difference.. Just glad that I have hauled other trailers so that it wont be that hard to get used to. (at least I hope so)

We went from a 4 horse 8' sw to a 3 horse 12'. So we actually only gained about a foot. But that extra 4' is very luxurious compared to before. Things like a sink in the bathroom and the big fridge/freezer. I feel like I made a smart upgrade and there's just three of us. Good luck..

Take your time and remember you have to swing wider on your turns. I actually liked it when i went up. Trailer had a longer wheelbase, axles seemed to be placed better, therefore the trailer seemed to ride better.

Don't be intimidated by the trailer. Just give yourself more time, more room and less speed until you've had some practice. We went from a trailer that was total length on the floor 24' to 32'. I have to take much wider turns but it didn't take me long to adjust. But then as a kid I always wanted to drive 18 wheeler.

I went from a 6' 8" wide, 6' shortwall, 4 horse LQ to a 8' wide, 13' shortwall, 3 horse LQ within the last year. It added about 5' to what I am used to towing. I honestly don't see much difference except for watching my turns at little more carefully. One thing I have learned the more I have towed is to slow down and take my time. There should never be a rush to get somewhere, especially when pulling a trailer loaded with live animals. Keep to the speed limit and you run less of a risk of a blowout. Slow down and think about what you are doing and you are less likely to have an issue.Best wishes and safe towing with your new trailer!
