I had a rescue greyhound years ago. Wonderful wonderful amazing dog. I used to take him trail riding with me in an area where we would encounter coyote. That dog was as sweet gentle as could be, never went for my cats or small dogs...but he'd take one look at a coyote and tear after them totally fearless. Coyote would run like hell away...and I would be in hot pursuit with horse to make sure nobody came to harm....was like a high speed very quiet fox hunt! Horse really like the greyhound too, he had no trouble running along beside galloping horse, they kinda raced each other good company for riding out alone.

Everyone that I have ever know that has had a rescue greyhound has said the same thing...that they are wonderful dogs. Total couch potatoes, but you cannot let them loose in an open space. They are so fast they will be gone before you can even think about calling them back!
