Sounds great. We had planned to go to Eminence, MO for the Cross Country Trail Ride in May (8-14), but with diesel prices continuing to climb (thought they were suppose to come down by now - isn't winter over?) it looks doubtful. Just can not see spending over $300 for gas to go there. Will go a little closer to home - Arkansas/Oklahoma. Have a great time.

We live in the town of Ozark, MO and have never heard of Kelly Hollow. If you can let us know what city it is close to, we will try to check it out for you. If it is a good place to ride, we would like to know about it also.

I thought about that after I posted, but didn't have time to go back and delete it.
Went of the King Ranch trial ride this past weekend and my mare was a complete idiot. She was scared of the ponies and absoultely terrified of the pony carts. I know she's never seen them before, but I thought she was going to feed me to the aligators!

Hello,
I'm new...just registered. While browsing for something else run onto this site and the conversation about Kelly Hollow Ranch that is south of Winona. I have not ridden there, but I have been in touch with Keith Temple. By now he has built a barn with stalls and has electric and water for about 6 sites. He says most of his trails are old loggin' roads and they connect to the Ozark Trail. By using the loggin' roads and the Ozark Trail it is possible to make loops back to camp. Hope this helps.

Ozark Mule Rider Thats real funny, because thats exactly where I am going, to Keith Temple's place. My sister and he are good friends and she owns the property adjacent to his place. Wow small horse world. I am leaving tomorrow night, thanks for the info, I heard its Gods country up there and can not wait to ride those trails. Bob Ostrenga El Paso, Texas

Well, I have made it back from Missouri, I stayed at the Kelly Hollow Campground, they had electrical and water for my LQ, and there is now a septic tank to dump your tanks. The trails in the Qzark Trails were beautiful and endless, I went riding every day for 7 days, one day we were out 10 hours and ended the day with a moonlight ride. Keith Temple was great and very laid back, he was a great camp host and knew the trails, It was no problem to talk him into tail riding with me, there was plenty of wood for campfires and they leave you be. It was a lond ride from Texas, but the trails were worth it.

I went to Huckleberry Stables in Pineville, MO, in March and had a wonderful time. The horse camp has cabins, corrals - covered and not covered, a bathhouse, hookups and is neat as a pin. Beautiful riding too. I would highly recommend it.

Hope you can help.....I need an overnight stabling stop somewhere near St. Louis. I am picking up a not quite yearling who is coming from the north and want to break the trip for her. I've looked at the Horse and Mule Trail Guide but with no luck. any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a good place. Covered stalls, a round pen, water, shower house, good campsites, although no elect at campsite. There is elect at the pavillon for coffe pot or any other appliance you might want to use, and elect in bathroom for hair dryer/elect razor. Just off interstate, close to all services (food, gas,Walmart) Alot of travelers stop here, might even be on some equestrian list for travel. And they have great trails too, if youv'e got time for a ride.
