We have been riding at the Buffalo River in Ark. for several years. The camping is primitive, and the riding is beauitiful! Our favorite camp is Erbie, it has the most to see, but is a little difficult to find and get into. I would not recommend trying to get a large trailer in there.

There is also Steel Creek. Only 14 camp sites, first come first served, but you can call the park ranger to see if it is full or not, before you go. Not to say it won't fill up before you can get there. There is a very severe hill to go down into the campground. Trailer brakes is a must. The ranger is very nice, James Griffin. His e-mail is james_griffin@nps.gov, his phone is 870-861-5511.

We have also ridden at Wollum. James could help you with information on any of these.

You would not be sorry if you decided to ride this beautiful area. Lots of river crossings, and lots of history there.

Thanks for your help, we did go to Steel Creek, and no problem with getting a spot, we were the only ones there.  For a primitive campground it is very nice.  As for the riding very pretty, lots of river crossings as you said.  But too much back tracking for our liking.  But very glad we got to see it.  We also talk to a guy there that said he liked Erbie better.  Thanks for your reply
