The idea has come to mind to schedule a benefit trail ride to assist those individuals who have taken in animals. One such individual is located in Gallatin, TN. The farm has taken the 25 mules from New Orleans that were used for tourism buggy rides in the city. They are expecting 25 horses from the New Orleans area as well. This was reported on the Nashville, TN evening news last week. A few people are planning a trail ride at a local park where participants can offer donations to this farm to assist with the care of the 50 additional animals through the winter months and for farrier and veterinary expenses as well. This needs to be a contagious event across the country. Call all your horse loving friends, post flyers, make it legitimate, and make it happen!! Notify the persons that you want to help and see how to do it to suit their needs. See if there is a fund set up so there are no tax implications.
