Based off the location I looked up on the map, I would estimate that you would be looking at about a 2-3 hour drive from Natchez Trace State Park that has a horse camp in the Western Part of the state.  It is located on I-40 and has some nice trails.  I am roughly 1 1/2 hours from it on the western side.  As far as trails on the Natchez Trace system, I am not sure.  There is a camp in Waynesboro, called the Buffalo River Trail Ride.  I have been there and is is not bad.  You can head north to Land Between the lakes which looks like a 3 hour drive for you.  It is a really nice campground as well, where the trails are marked.  Last, if you head east, you will find several campgrounds around Big South Fork and Jamestown, TN.  That however would be more like a 4 hour drive for you.  Basically, depending on how far you are willing to travel, there are several campgrounds in the TN area.

I don't want to camp on the trail. I would like to know if I can ride the trails from the Sante Fe area. I am hoping I can ride the trails from the new house.

You might want to have the realtor send you a map with the trail heads, trail access marked.  Good luck.

Sante Fe is near the Natchez Trace "Parkway" horse trail.  This is different than the Natchez Trace State Park.  It runs right beside the Natchez Trace in this area and should be easy to spot on a map. Good luck.

Sable812, my friends and I ride the Trace every weekend. In fact, we're hosting an endurance ride there on 03/18/06. I'd be happy to tell you all about the area. Please contact me privately: angie24 at united dot net
