I've been looking at 5 and 6 horse trailers for a while now. I really would like to order a 4 Star just the way I want it, but there is a new Sooner available fairly close to me and my husband suddenly wants to buy a trailer right now. I know nothing about the Sooners and would love any feedback - positive and negative. The Sooner would save me about $12,000, but does not have some of the things I wanted with the 4 Star. I'm also not sure how well my horses will fit in the Sooner - I've got to go down to the barn and measure the trailers they've been in. Thanks for the info!

Sooner is a well made trailer, but I would not put it in the same category as the 4 Star in quality. I would probably compare Sooner more to a Sundowner - both are well made trailers and from what I have heard, very reputable companies. If your heart is set on the 4 Star, it would probably be worth waiting for  (in my opinion !!). I waited 3 months for my 4 Star and I am absolutely thrilled with it.

We were looking at a Sooner (not a bad trailer in my opinion, I think they are the official trailer of AQHA), when the dealer said its a very good trailer but its not a "4 Star".  We bought the "4 Star".  The reason we even looked at Sooner is the standard Sooner was larger than most trailers (again according to the dealer).

I had an2001 Sooner 3 horse with a weekender.  It was very well made and at 7 wide, carried the horses with panty of room.  However, they don't make things like they used to.  They and exxis are together now.

The silverlites seem to be comparable to the newer sooners but nothing like the older ones. Still nothing like a 4-star or Hart.
