I am getting ready to purchase a new trailer. I want a 2 horse straight load gooseneck with a side ramp that I can drive my golf cart up into. It appears that I am going to have to order an 8' wide trailer in order to fit my cart sideways. Anyone have any experience with this? Up until now I have had to take an extra vehicle to pull my golf cart behind.

Have you looked at those new trailers that have 2 straight load stalls behind and then one slant load. I thought, how perfect for the horse show person who has a golf cart/scooters to pull in the straight load area, and put the horse in the slant area to haul!

I contacted Equispirit about this very thing. They were LESS than timely in their response. It wasn't hard telling them I'd sent my youth elswhere to trailer shop. They did tell me you can add extra slant stalls in the front and have ramps at both ends, head and tail for the horses.

When I was looking at side ramp trailers, I found that Sundowner, Kiefer, Hawk, Collin-Arnt and others made them. I ended up designing my own and went to 8' wide, as most of the 'in stock' trailers were 6-8 to 7-0 wide. I've attached a PDF file of what I designed, to give you an idea.

Sorry I missed this thread before. We sell quite a few two horse straight loads with either a slant stall in front or a storage space and side ramp, in several different brands. Hawk has added a standard model straight/slant gooseneck for 2006. The Equispirit is built by Hawk for Equispirit. These trailers are usually 80" wide, but could be wider to fit specific needs. We tweak the design and dimensions frequently to meet individual requirements. Also, it seems that with every trailer built using the customer's ideas we find some little thing that makes the trailer more usable or safer. I love this business!

Thanks for everyone's timely responses. I have bitten the bullet and was able to order exactly what I wanted through 4 Star. My previous trailer was a 4 Star and I am sold on their quality. Did order the 8' wide, which was a necessity. Thanks again, Jane
