When I pulled my trailer the other day I had to brake hard as I came upon an accident. The trailer pulled hard to the right... scary and not normal... what is causing this? Anyone have an idea of where to start. The truck is an 01 F250 diesel, trailer is an 03 Circle J Riata GN? Is this a truck or trailer problem. I'd like to have an idea of what I am dealing with before I haul it to the repair shop! Thanks for your imput

Catherine....I would try a panic stop with the truck only.....That would eliminate or confirm the truck. Look over the inside of your wheels on the truck for any fluid leakage it would probably be the left side to cause it to pull to the right. If it stops with no pull then it is a trailer issue. It could have a bad connection to one side or the other of the axles or they need adjusting. I am betting it is the truck but that is just a guess. Let us know how the truck alone stops.
