Chiming in as a conversion company who works on all brands, Hart's are not inferior trailers. They may not be right for everyone, but what trailer is?

There are some cheaply made trailers out there, but I wouldn't put Hart in that class.

(and no, I don't sell them :-))

I'm not touching the Hart debat other than to say I personally think they are too heavy to pull and can keep their steel. For all the other reasons mentioned they are in a seperate class to themselves but I certainly wouldn't want to be the guy pulling one w/ any decent size lq.

HWbar I see you are in Lburg KY but do conversions. Never knew there was a semi local place, what business are you with?

Never said they were inferior I said they didn't belong in the same class with 4 Star, Elite and C&C. I'll bet that most people who have been around horse trailers will agree to that statement. As far as LQ's I do about 6-8 trailers a year, I work for myself and pretty much by myself do get some help every now and then from a friend.

In response to the OP's question, I have a 2006 4 Star 2H GN and love it. I have hauled it about 20+ times and had absolutely no issues. My previous trailer was a Sundowner and I was disappointed with the quality of the new Sundowners, so I bought a 4 Star. Looked at several brands and there are a lot of good trailers out there but the 4 Star dealership, the price, and the quality of the trailers sold me. Have not regretted my decision at all !!!

Well I like the Hart better than the 4 Star, Elite not a lot better but the C&C I don't know a lot about. You are the first person I have seen that puts Hart in a lower position. I guess everyone to his own opion. As far as the roof goes I have said this before that I built a barn off the top of my 2 horse bumper pull Hart and had a fiberglass 24 foot ladder on top of it and me on top of the ladder and I weigh 250 lbs. Also have a 2005 3 H with 12ft outlaw. I love it

To each their own, but I can get an aluminum roof repaired at a dozen or so places in my little town. I can only imagine the looks I would get, trying to find someone to repair the fiberglass reinforced honeycomb plastic grid system that Hart, Cimmaron, Sidekick and I am sure others use. Beyond the roof if you look at the construction of the trailer it don't measure up to 4 Star, Elite, and C&C. If you are happy with your Hart that is great, they make a good trailer. I am sure the folks with a Sundowner think they are the best also. I see trailers from the inside out not vise-versa.

HWBar: I'm not sure how doing 8 living quarters trailers in a year makes you qualified to slam Hart. I'd call Outlaw, Duster, Bunkhouse, or companies that do 8 a WEEK to get some better opinions about Hart trailers???

I don't need to call anybody to have an opinion on a brand of trailer, You think because they do more trailers they are more of an expert, They may be more politically correct than me, but my eyes work as well as any body elses.

I removed the personal stuff, I'm bigger than that. Trailers speak for themselves If you can't see the differences then they won't matter.

My sister and her husband pulls a new 4-star, she pulls hard and fast, she hauls working border collies so she has never hauled horses just dogs and one four wheeler in this trailer has no weight just the Living quarter weight. They live in Illinois and run the border collie trials in all states, and I mean they haul hard and fast and on rough roads. The problem that they have are the rivets on the side and only on the driver side and half way of the trailer. The rivets hold on the skin on the side. But I blame this on how they drive, they don't have to worry about horses falling the dogs are in pens built on the inside walls.
I was told that the owners of C&C trailers worked at 4-star when 4-star started building trailers then started there own trailer company. They sure do look a lot alike,
