Hi, I am Laura! Nice to meet you all.
I have read a bunch of the posts concerning the Exiss trailers, and my husband and I are considering a 1998 Exiss Maximum 3H GN. The trailer looks great. It's been gently used and looks as new as the 2006's on the lot. Do any of you think 10K is too much for a trailer that late of a model? Most of the ones we have seen are 12-15, and this one came into the dealer we are working with today. We were considering a Steel K&K...but we REALLY wanted aluminum since we live in Florida.
We would be pulling it with an 06 Dodge 3500 HD Dually.
Also, do you have to remove the tail gate when you pull a GN?
Thanks, looking forward to chatting with you all.....

Hi
Ive gone through two excis already and would buy another at the drop od the hat. since it is used I would test all the systems and make sure the brakes are ok, along with the berings. Don't make the mistake of buying steel, not here in florida, you can watch it rust out in front of your eyes

Most leave tailgate on.Just remember to drop it before driving out from under trailer,LOL.Lots of tailgates get ruined! It can be removed or a RV style tailgate.I leave mine on.

I bought a used Exiss and its been a fine trailer. Buying used has its pros and cons- one pro is you can buy a bit more trailer for less. I cannot buy a new LQ trailer but I could buy a older LQ used trailer.

Hey laura,
You can totally leave your tailgate on, like a previous post said make sure you put it down before you pull out from underneath it. The price sounds good as long as its as good as you say it is. I would also lift the rubber mats and check the floor to make sure they have maintained it by washing out the urin now and then, you are looking for corrosion (hopefully there is NONE). Also ask for any service records they may have so you know that the bearings and breaks have atleast been checked and serviced. If everything looks good enjoy your Exiss.

I purchased a 96 Exiss 3h sl maximum last year. Modified to a 2h slant It has LQ with city hookup, ac/heat strip, sink, microwave, fridge, full bath with a porta potty for now.Adding holding tanks this spring. I gave 12k for it. I haven't had any issues with the trailer. It handles well. Better than any steel trailer I have had.

Laura,
You should be fine. Im sure cost is more out there but the only thing I see is that you can get a new one for not much more if you look at the right place. I don't know what fuel would be but here are a few...
