I'm new to this site and it looks like a great one.  I wanted to tell you about a great horse friendly place in Northern Michigan.  The Flyin' R Ranch has rustic camping, box stalls, picketing and is only minutes from the Michigan Shore to Shore trail.  It located in the middle of the Huron National Forest so there are hundreds of miles of trails.  If you don't want to camp, there is a rustic lodge, restuarant and tavern located next to the property.  The people who run it are super friendly and do all they can to make your visit fun.  If you need a contact number let me know.

I live in lower peninsula area.  How far is it from the Cadillac area?  I would be shooting up 131 north.

Would love to get contact numbers as well.  Thank you!

Luzerne is about 1 1/2 hrs from Cadillac. The best bet is to take M55 east to US127 North to Grayling, then M72 east to Luzerne. The Ranch's phone # is 989-826-1491. Leave a message if no one answers. The phone is not manned all the time this time of year. Their website is down but should be back on line in a couple of days. lostcreekskyranch.com
Hope this helps.
