Need help finding polyurethane caulk. I read on here that it's the best for fixing seams on trailer roofs. We just can't find it. Where do you suggest to look? Also what colors we also wanted silver/gray. Home Depot,did not have it. Also what price does a tube usually run?

Don't mean to step on any toe's here. But a few years back we had a 2000 Exiss we could not keep the seams sealed so after 2 or 3 tries I went to Home Depot and bought white roof cool seal for mobile homes and a large brush. Cleaned the top with sopa and water, let it dry over night, then painted the complete top seams and everything with the cool seal and that did the trick. Even cooled down the horse compartment a bit in the summer. Might not be the correct way, but it was cheap and worked!

I tried that product on a steel restoration. Sanded the whole roof, put down a converter, acid primer and the Cool Seal. At the end of the first trip it was starting to peel. I ended up sanding it all off and spray painted the roof with a marine polyurethane paint, that still looked like new several years later. I'll not again, waste my time with Cool Seal.
If you want a rubberized roof, use an elastomeric product. It will absolutely seal the roof, stay flexible and is long lasting.

Gard.....could you please tell me the brand name of the elastomeric product that you recommend and where it can be purchased? We are going to reseal our trailer roof and would like to use a product that will work well. Thank you....

I just spent the weekend painting the elastomeric on top of my LQ gooseneck. I purchased it at Home Depot. I scrubbed the top with Streak Master Ultra Guard, caulked some areas with a caulking I purchased at a RV center, can't remember the name, acid washed the top with the Streak Master Aluminum Brightener, and finally put two coats of the elastomeric paint. I think it looks pretty good, hoping that it works. It was recommended to me to do the acid wash to etch the aluminum roof, I was a little nervous about it since the sides of my trailer is painted aluminum, but I rinsed it well and got down on the ground and rinsed the sides well so the aluminum brightener was cleaned off. I don't know it I did a good enough job washing the top with the acid wash, but it appears to have made a good bond.

The caulking that I purchased was soft and sticky. It was white which was fine since the top was painted white. The RV center recommended that particular product, it cost about $8 a tube. I looked at Home Depot but wasn't sure their products were exactly what I wanted. The marine caulking material may be even better.
