Silver Star was a "copy cat" of Sundowners. If you park the two side by side; you will notice many similarities. Unfortunately, the recession crunch got them, as it did many other trailer manufacturers.

Well, I don't know about that applying to all of the Silver Stars. The first ones looked like a Sundowner, but some of the later versions had gotten to be pretty lightly built. I've seen some Star Lite models, that were just that. Lite. Lighter built contruction. Slick & clean builds, yes, but not so much HD. Just my opinion.

I have a 2003 3H titled 2005 as that as when the ppl i got it from bought it off the lot i guess...anyways...love it. Has so many nice extra features without the crazy price tag (insulated finished ceiling throughout, all padded, 37in escape door, huge drop down windows, walk through tack door, no unfinished welds anywhere, folding rear tack with very nice saddle racks, tons of bridle hooks, loading lights) I could go on forever on the little extras that were standard on it. I am selling mine looking to upgrade to an LQ, otherwise would keep it. Very well built, easy haul and horses love it.

I have a 99 SilverStar & I love it. It's the 1st non Sundowner trailer I've owned (including what we had when I was growing up), my stepdad & I both crawled around in & under it & it was built like our Sundowners.
