good article, I know the 17.5 tires on our trailer are only rated for 65 and that is where I drive most of the time.

I'm skeptical that speed alone is a major factor in tire blowouts, as the speed ratings are based on a tire's ability to sustain that speed for either 6 or 8 hours (would have to verify which). Its more likely that underinflation and/or overloading are both more significant factors in tire failure.
