Just bought a new LQ trailer. Live in the cold north of the country. When storing for winter should I use a trickle charger on the battery? If so, can I use a standard automotive trickle charger? I've got one I used to use on my 350Z that I always stored in the winter.

Your new trailer should have a three stage charging system which includes a maintenance function. This will provide just enough recharging to maintain the batteries at a full charge, without over charging. However your complete electrical system must be energised to avail yourself of this feature. Inexpensive maintenance chargers can be purchased and attached directly to your batteries, which will allow the same maintenance without utilising a couple thousand dollars of appliances and electronics. I have several batteries that are winter kept with these units.
