We have a Sundowner 3 horse gooseneck with no living quarters that we added simple power hookup for land power. Just a receptacle feeding a receptacle in the trailer. We do some camping in the trailer.
I would like to add a power converter on the outside under the gooseneck for 12v power. My thought is to run an rv cord with a receptacle on the end to plug into the existing trailer cord to run the lights. I assume the converter should feed into a fuse block or something before hooking to the trailer cord. Thoughts or suggestions are welcome. Pictures also if anyone has already done this.

Most of those units are mounted inside....I suppose you could use some sort of battery or utility box mounted under the gooseneck.
See Amazon : WFCO WF-8735-PB Black 30 Amp Power Center for a typical unit. has both a/c and d/c distribution as well as a converter.
