Tracer Trailers were made in Brazil Indiana and as far as I know they
stopped production about 8 years ago (time flys) Ron Allender was the
gentleman who owned Tracer and built trailers for years. He built an
excellent, but very heavy, product that held up very well. There are still quite a few old Tracers around. I understand that Ron's accountant
took over the plant with some kind of deal and made drastic changes and pretty much ruined the product. Then I heard Ron came back to try to resurect it but it was too late. I heard there were some health issues so Tracer was closed. It's a shame that there are not more gentlemen like
Ron who take pride in and totally stand behind their product.

They quit production in 1995 and had just about switched completely to  aluminum which was equally as well built as the steel ones I had an alum one built in 93 and it was a great trailer and sold in 05 for 1000 dollars more than I paid for it talk about money well spent and it was all over the USA. They had a real problem trying to keep welders. They were made in the same city that Great Dane Tractor trailer trailers are made and every time they got a guy trained to weld he would go to wiork at Great Dane for more money.

Your should be ashamed of yourself for talking about something and someone you don't know anything about moron. My uncle Ron Allender owned tracer trailer until he retired as a multimillionaire in 1988. The business was sold and the new owner did not stay in business more than seven years. Tracer trailer did not have a problem keeping employees and they never lost an employee to Great Dane while Ron Allender was in charge. Every employee that ever worked for Ron thinks of him as a first class gentleman and businessman. Tracer trailer was built to last and they do, I personally have one that is 32 years old and looks brand new. Ron Allender is no longer with us and that only guarantees another trailer will never be made in the same quality as a Tracer.

They are great very well built trailers. Used a 2 horse basic LQ for years. Wish I had a new one like it. Camped right now with an alum 3 horse with LQ.

Hello. I have a tracer trailer and love it. It is missing the rear top doors. I really wish I could find a pair.

My parents had a 1983 steel and a 1993 aluminum. Both excellent trailers. I wish I had kept the 93--it was an aluminum LQ trailer they had custom built and really nice.

This post sent me down memory lane....my first new to me trailer purchase was a 1976 Tracer 2H GN...it was a beautiful maroon and silver and I put the LQ in myself (don't laugh, it was decent)....I had a really good barrel horse at the time and he won me the money at IRA rodeos to buy it...I needed a trailer to stay overnight in at rodeos....I got a lot of compliments on it and I wonder where it ended up....they were the nicest trailers around besides King at that time....

Hello, My name is Marlin Brown. I'm selling a 1973 Tracer @ auction on June 4th, 2016. I was wondering if you could give any insight on the value of this very nice looking and well built trailer? It's my understanding that the Manufacturer was owned by your uncle?

Just out of curiosity can you speak about the business in its last seven years after your uncle sold it?

I can tell you that when we were at the factory in 93, they had to fix some things on the trailer before we left with it. We were told the story about losing all their good welders to the tractor company.
